The primary objectives of cellular and tissue engineering are (a) to understand dynamic interactions between cells and their environments in both physiological and pathological states, (b) to develop novel methods for disease intervention, and (c) to produce functional constructs for therapeutic applications. Focus areas include stem cell tissue engineering, neural tissue engineering, and magnetic resonance analysis and modeling of bioengineered constructs.
We have extensive collaboration with researchers at FSU's Institute of Molecular Biophysics (IMB), Center for Materials Research and Technology (MARTECH), College of Medicine, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry and the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
