What is the Cyber Security for Engineers Certificate?

The escalating threat of cyber-attacks from sophisticated criminal networks and sovereign actors has created a critical need for expertly trained security professionals. Traditional security programs often focus on reactive measures, such as reconnaissance, forensics, and counter techniques. However, recent high-profile breaches and ransomware attacks have exposed the limitations of current industrial security certifications, highlighting the severe consequences of inadequate cyber security, including intellectual property theft and catastrophic infrastructure damage.

To address this need, the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering has developed a state-of-the-art Cyber Security graduate engineering graduate certificate. This innovative program proactively addresses security concerns by emphasizing secure product development and security-by-design principles. By integrating security protocols into every stage of product development, students gain the expertise needed to create secure, connected products and systems, and to lead teams in developing innovative security solutions.
