Step 1
Mail Application, Transcripts, GRE and TOEFL Scores, and Application Fee to FAMU Admissions Office.
- To access an application form for admission to the graduate program, go to: SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES AND RESEARCH (Student Forms and Applications), and complete and print (pdf) graduate admissions form.
- Complete the hard copy form as completely as possible.
The following information is to be sent by mail to the Florida A&M University Admissions Office:
- Completed graduate program admissions application form.
- Two official transcripts from each undergraduate and graduate school you have attended.
- ALL transcripts from non-U.S. institutions are required to be evaluated and the evaluations sent directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions (for international students).
- Official GRE scores (submit a request to ETS for your scores, and send the scores to FAMU).
- Official TOEFL scores (for international students).
- Application fee for $30.00 payable to Florida A&M University.
- Application fees may be paid ONLY with an International money order.
- Personal checks are not accepted and will be returned to the applicant.

Mail Current Resume or Curriculum Vitae, Copies of Transcripts, Statement of Purpose, Publications, and GRE and TOEFL Scores to the Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering
- Current Resume or Curriculum Vitae.
A resume gives you an opportunity to share information about yourself to the Graduate Committee. It should include your personal data, educational background, working experience, publications, special skills, and professional affiliations and honors.
- Photocopies of your Transcripts from all previous college-level academic work.
Transcripts will provide the Graduate Committee information with information on your scholastic record for your undergraduate and/or graduate course work from previous colleges or universities attended.
- Statement of Purpose.
The Statement of Purpose should be between one and two pages in length, addressing your career goals, research interests, and how you have prepared to achieve your educational objectives. Please describe your relevant educational and work experiences in the field of chemical and/or biomedical engineering. If you so choose, please indicate the Department professors with whom you wish to work, or the sub-field (polymers, biomedical, reaction/transport) in which you wish to work.
- Publications.
List your book and journal publications that are in print or in press. If you do not have any publications, leave this area blank.
- Photocopies of your GRE scores, and TOEFL scores (for international students).
Send all of the above five (5) items to the Department at the following address:

Arrange for References to Mail Letters of Recommendation to the Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering
Letters of Recommendation - minimum of three (3).
- Please arrange for three people (references) who can comment on your educational or working performance to write you letters of recommendation. If you graduated more that five years ago, you may substitute work references in place of academic or educational references. The recommendation letters will become part of your admissions file. They will be used only for admissions consideration and will not be disclosed to any unauthorized individual without your consent.
- After they have written your letters of recommendation, contact your references and have each of them send an original, signed copy of the letter to the Department address, below.

The graduate application is available online. It is recommended that the application be submitted nine to twelve months prior to the proposed term of enrollment.
To complete the process in the Office of Admissions, applicants must submit the following:
- An official transcript from each college or university attended. FSU transcripts or official transcripts already on file will be obtained by the Office of Admissions. Transcripts are considered official when they bear an official seal and signature and are sent from the issuing college or university directly to FSU.
- Official nationally standardized graduate admission test scores.
- Supporting residency documentation, if applicable.
Many of our communications, including your admission decision, are sent electronically. Please make sure that we always have your most up-to-date email address. You will need to check your email account and the Online Status Check at https://admissions.fsu.edu/StatusCheck/ on a regular basis. To ensure receipt of our emails, include graduateadmissions@admin.fsu.edu in your address book.

An application form for admission to the graduate program at Florida State University is available at the FSU Admissions web site. The application process must be completed on-line. Go to http://admissions.fsu.edu/, choose graduate and apply online.
Application Guidelines
Please read the application guidelines below before attempting to fill out the online application. You may want to print these guidelines to have available while you work on your application.
The on-line application will require you to upload Supporting Documents as outlined below:

- Your references will be contacted directly by e-mail and they are provided a form that allows them to submit their recommendation letters online.
- After you gather all of your Supporting Documents to be uploaded, you may begin the online application process. (http://www.admissions.fsu.edu/). When you have finished, electronically submit the entire completed application and all supporting documents. If you have any problems uploading your supporting documents you may mail hard copies to:
