Graduate Certificate Programs
We offer certificate programs for current students, graduates and engineering professionals through our six departments.
Benefits of a Graduate Certificate
- Specialized Knowledge: Graduate certificates provide focused training in a specific area, enhancing your expertise in a particular field.
- Career Advancement: These programs can help you advance in your current career or transition to a new field by providing the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Networking Opportunities: Certificate programs often connect you with industry leaders and peers, expanding your professional network.
- Cost-Effective: Compared to a master's degree, graduate certificates are more affordable and require less time to complete.
- Flexibility: Many programs are offered online, allowing you to balance work and studies.
- Certification Preparation: They can help you prepare for industry certifications and meet licensing requirements.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) online graduate certificate program is 100% online and courses are taught asynchronously so that students can pursue the certificate and continue their busy lifestyles. Our courses are taught by faculty who are actively involved in cutting edge aerospace research, and who rank among the country’s most accomplished aerospace and mechanical engineers. The skills you learn within your online aerodynamics certificate will empower you to make decisions that inspire more efficient and effective aeronautics projects.
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) innovative cybersecurity graduate engineering certificate program proactively addresses the escalating threat of cyber-attacks from sophisticated criminal networks and sovereign actors by emphasizing secure product development and security- by-design principles. By integrating security protocols into every stage of product development, students gain the expertise needed to create secure, connected products and systems, and to lead teams in developing innovative security solutions. The certificate can be completed online in as little as three semesters on a part-time basis.
The Engineering Data Analytics Certificate Program offered by the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (IME) focuses on developing artificial intelligence (AI) skills within industrial systems as supported by data analytics. Instead of simply teaching data analytics methods, the EDA program integrates the insights learned throughout the certificate program into engineering systems with data analytics and algorithms to develop solutions to industrial systems. The program will help students prepare for the growing career opportunities in the data science field of study and ubiquitous applications of AI across manufacturing, service including healthcare, transportation, and defense applications.
The Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering (IME) online graduate certificate in Systems Engineering Leadership consists of four courses (12 credit hours) in the systems engineering field. An SE Leadership Certificate is often an entryway towards a full master’s degree in systems engineering, but one that infuses the principles of good leadership with the technical skills of advanced engineering. A certificate also caters to individuals who are already in the workforce and require additional training to adapt to changes in their job requirements or are seeking to attain knowledge while in their jobs.
