2019 Mechanical Engineering: Distinguished Alumni Award-James W. Geeslin III

James graduated with his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering in 1995. He currently serves as the Rotating Equipment Engineering Technical Team Lead for Chevron.

As a professional engineer, James has served as Deepwater Operations Engineer, Equipment Optimization Team Lead, SFO Advisor in Thailand and Senior Facilities Engineer for Chevron.

2019 Mechanical Engineering: Chair’s Service Award-Lin Xiang Sun

Dr. Lin Sun serves as the Vice President of Engineering & Technology of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors, Inc. (DTC), a pioneer and leading manufacturer of the oil-free centrifugal compressors in the HVAC industry. Lin has over 30 years experiences in Mechatronics and embedded systems. After 10 years of academic work, he joined DTC in its start-up phase, responsible for developing magnetic bearing technologies for high speed oil free centrifugal compressors.

2019 Mechanical Engineering: Distinguished Alumni Award - Gregory A. Boler, Jr.

Greg works for the Logistics Group of Transwestern Development Company, formerly Ridge Development, as Vice President of a region that spans from New England to Florida, Greg is charged with the initiation, management and supporting of all aspects of industrial development from land sourcing, underwriting, capital sourcing, entitlements, construction, leasing and disposition.

2019 Mechanical Engineering: Distinguished Alumni Award - Terrell Finch

Terrell Finch has worked for 12 ½ years at Northrop Grumman Corporation Aerospace Systems in Redondo Beach, CA. His current role for the past 2 ½ years is the Product and Functional Manager for the Thermal Insulation Products Department. Commonly known as the Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) group, Terrell manages a large team that designs, fabricates and installs thermal insulation for the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) program.
