Graduate Assistantships and Health Insurance
The department offers graduate research and teaching assistantships to qualified, full-time students pursuing either the MS Thesis or PhD degree. No departmental financial aid application is required. All qualified applicants will be considered for graduate assistantships, regardless of their financial status. However, assistantships are limited and are awarded on a competitive basis. Applicants must meet the general requirements for admission to be considered for financial support. Admission into the graduate program and the awarding of financial aid are considered to be separate processes. Notification of admission may proceed notification of financial aid.
The assistantship includes an annual stipend of $19,200 - $22,000 and a tuition waiver for 9-12 credit hours each semester.
FAMU Graduate Assistants are eligible for university sponsored health insurance. FSU Graduate Assistants are eligible for a health insurance subsidy towards the purchase of the university sponsored health insurance plan.
