Online Masters in Engineering Program Debuts in Top 50 for National Rankings

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering’s online master’s program in engineering, which started three years ago, made its debut in the U.S. News rankings at No. 49 among public programs and No. 62 overall.

“We are thrilled about the debut of our online engineering programs in the Top 50, so soon after the program’s inception,” said Zhiyong “Richard” Liang, the college’s interim associate dean for research and graduate studies. “This ranking is a testament to the quality of the programs and the hard work of our students, faculty and staff.”  

FAMU-FSU Researchers Forge a Thermal Path for Nanomaterials Used for Everything From Deep Space to Drug Delivery

A team of FAMU-FSU College of Engineering researchers at the High-Performance Materials Institute (HPMI) has completed a novel study on the extreme temperature thermal stability of purified boron nitride nanotubes, also known as BNNTs. The discovery has applications in everything from deep space travel to medicine delivery systems, including electronics.

FSU Supports Engineering and Other Faculty Moving Research to the Marketplace

Research to improve 3D printing algorithms, develop better materials for measuring radiation and test the effectiveness of steroid treatments all received funding from a Florida State University program that supports faculty interested in transforming their academic work into commercial ventures.

FSU’s Office of the Vice President for Research awarded faculty members more than $132,000 through the Fall 2022 GAP Commercialization Investment Program.
