FSU Supports Engineering and Other Faculty Moving Research to the Marketplace

Research to improve 3D printing algorithms, develop better materials for measuring radiation and test the effectiveness of steroid treatments all received funding from a Florida State University program that supports faculty interested in transforming their academic work into commercial ventures.

FSU’s Office of the Vice President for Research awarded faculty members more than $132,000 through the Fall 2022 GAP Commercialization Investment Program.

Senior Design 2023

Every year, senior engineering students participate in a two-semester Senior Design course, where they apply the knowledge learned in the classroom and work with industry partners on a sponsored project. These undergraduates work in teams, often interdisciplinary to provide innovative and creative solutions for real-life projects. Senior Design is a signature engineering capstone experience for students and the experience helps them realize specific design needs by using engineering skills they have learned through the curriculum.

Engineering Researchers Awarded Two NSF Grants to Improve Predictive Jump Behavior in Engineering Systems

Researchers from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and Virginia Tech are collaborating to advance smart manufacturing and advanced material manufacturing using artificial intelligence. The novel technique may enhance performance by alleviating the uncertainties associated with operations.
