The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is pleased to announce that Dr. Stephanie Bolyard, Ph.D., Research and Scholarship Program Manager at the of the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF), has been granted courtesy faculty status at the college. Dr. Bolyard has MS and PhD degrees in Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida, and over a decade of academic and professional engineering experience in wastewater permitting, environmental compliance, and solid waste management.
Raphael Kampmann and a group of students with FAMU-FSU Engineers without Borders (EWB) just returned from their second trip to Guatemala where they are helping with the design and construction of a school house for a local community. Kampmann is a professor of civil and environmental engineering at the college, and volunteers as a faculty advisor for FAMU-FSU EWB.
Not afraid of hard conversations and rising to challenges, FAMU-FSU College of Engineering alumnae Jamie Graham, Sandra Bucklew and Victoria Howard use their leadership skills to advocate for the Big Bend chapter of the Florida Engineering Society (FES). Eight freshmen engineering students from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering won third place in the Advancing Minorities Interest in Engineering (AMIE) Design Challenge. A total of 11 teams from various Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) participated in the event.
