The GRE requirement has been waived (and extended) for all engineering master’s applicants applying through Fall 2026!

Boost your career and qualify for management positions with a new online Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (M.Eng) degree program offered through the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. This program is especially suited for civil or environmental engineers who are working in the field, as well as recent bachelor of science graduates. Professionals can take classes part-time and learn at their own pace or complete the program in four semesters as a full-time student. The streamlined curriculum requires 30 credit hours or 10 three-hour courses.

Why get an advanced M.Eng. degree?

Getting your M.Eng. in Civil Engineering is ideal for those who wish to earn a professional engineering license (P.E.). In addition to increasing your technical skills to better prepare you for the licensing exam, our program has professional development courses to prepare you for managerial roles. Both tracks will increase your earning and promotion potential.

  • Completion time in as little as three-four semesters 

  • 30-credit hours total 

  • Prepare for the Professional Engineer Exam and the Structural Engineering Certificate Exam while completing the degree

  • No entrance exam required for students with qualifying FE or PE licensure
