Researchers Get $1 Million from NSF to Train the Next Generation of Minority STEM Scientists in Multifunctional Materials

Florida A&M University and the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering received a $1 million, three-year grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support the training of underrepresented minority scientists in multifunctional materials. The grant is part of the national HBCU Research Infrastructure for Science and Engineering (RISE) program.

Nasrin Alamdari Selected to Attend the ASEE DELTA Junior Faculty Institute

Nasrin Alamdari, assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, was recently selected to attend the American Society for Engineering Education DELTA Junior Faculty Institute

Alamdari’s research focuses on natural and nature-based features for mitigating short- and long-term impacts of sea level rise in coastal waters, which is important in a peninsular state like Florida.

Alumni and Students Gather at the Green & Gold Tailgate to Celebrate the 40th Anniversary

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering celebrated its 40th anniversary on September 23, 2022 at a tailgate-style event on its Tallahassee campus. The celebration was designed to bring Rattler and ‘Nole engineers together for a party to reminisce and celebrate the joint college’s achievements over the last four decades. More than 700 people enjoyed live music, food and campus and lab tours on a Friday before both universities hosted home football games.
