Danfoss Turbocor's Ricardo Schneider receives FSU Research Community Partner Award

Danfoss Turbocor Compressors President Ricardo Schneider was honored Tuesday with the Florida State University Office of Research Community Partner of the Year Award for his work in promoting university research locally and worldwide.

The manufacturing company has provided financial support to FSU’s engineering research in aerodynamics and magnet technology, sponsored senior design projects at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, collaborated with faculty and provided internships for students.

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, the nation’s only joint engineering college shared between two institutions—Florida A&M and Florida State universities—gained seven points in the annual graduate and professional programs rankings by U.S. News & World Report’s 2019 edition of “Best Graduate Schools.”

Engineering dean visits France to serve as a judge at the ‘Investissements D’Avenir’ program

Like many of our leading faculty, J. Murray Gibson, dean of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, is known around the world for his research and leadership experience. As an experienced scientist and researcher, Gibson has been asked several times to provide guidance on the evaluation of large-scale research enterprises in other countries, including the UK, France, Germany and Australia.

For the FSU-FAMU College of Engineering, research and multiculturalism are the most significant factors in the school’s rising national ranking.

According to Murray Gibson, dean of the shared college, they have increased their rankings by about 19 points in the last two years. He says it’s all due to their messaging and their research funding.

Carol Hill, M.B.A. named as Director of Development (FSU Foundation)

On Monday, June 2, 2019 FAMU-FSU College of Engineering dean J. Murray Gibson announced Ms. Carol Hill, M.B.A., was hired as the new Director of Development, FSU Foundation, for FAMU-FSU Engineering. 

"We are very pleased that the FSU foundation has provided us with a full time development officer to replace Sarishni Patel, who served us well for many years," he said.

As a part of the engineering team, Ms. Hill will work directly with the FSU foundation and the college’s alumni, and work co-operatively with the FAMU foundation.
