The Carolinas SAMPE Chapter will be focused on Space Materials and Technologies. The event will be hosted at the High-Performance Materials Institute (HPMI) at the FAMU FSU College of Engineering, where academic and industry leaders will present current research/applications and collaborate toward future advances in space technologies, including repair and novel materials.

The FAMU-FSU College of Engineering is the joint engineering school for Florida A&M and Florida State universities, the only shared engineering college in the nation. We are surrounded by eight partner research centers and a national laboratory. This unique collaboration between a top Historically Black University and a Research-1 institution makes us an ideal place to learn cutting-edge engineering skills in a diverse environment offering a real-world experience that employers value. HPMI is a multidisciplinary research institute at Florida State University. HPMI is a center of excellence for research and education in advanced materials. HPMI is involved in four primary technology areas: High-Performance Composite and Nanomaterials, Structural Health Monitoring, Multifunctional Nanomaterials, Advanced Manufacturing, and Modeling and Simulation.
