Record Number of Graduating Seniors Inducted into Order of the Engineer at Launch Ceremony

On Tuesday, April 23, the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering held a Launch and Order of the Engineer Ring ceremony on the campus lawn for graduating seniors.

A record number of senior engineering students from the nation’s joint college participated in the event, which marks their transition from student to professional engineer. 

More than 275 students took the Order of the Engineer oath and accepted the stainless-steel ring “on their working hand,” which signifies a commitment to upholding professional and ethical standards in their engineering career.

FAMU-FSU Engineering Alum Receives 2024 BEYA Trailblazer Award

FAMU-FSU College of Engineering alum Lance Ellerbe was honored with the prestigious Science Spectrum Trailblazer award at the 38th Black Engineer Award (BEYA) STEM DTX Conference held earlier this year.

Ellerbe is an engineering & technology manager for Lockheed Martin.

The Science Spectrum Trailblazer Award recognizes individuals who significantly impact science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Professionals are celebrated for their innovative contributions and pavement of new paths in the field, reflecting their dedication and excellence.
