Nation’s First ‘Neutron Nexus’ Launched with ORNL

Oak Ridge National Laboratory has launched its Neutron Nexus pilot program with Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, or FAMU, and Florida State University, or FSU, through the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.

The first program of its kind nationwide aims to broaden and diversify the scientific user community by reaching out to universities and colleges to increase collaboration and, ultimately, scientific advancement. 

Challenger Learning Center Names Planetarium Following Historic Donation

The Challenger Learning Center (CLC) has renamed its planetarium the “Fogg Planetarium” in recognition of a landmark $750,000 donation from the Fogg Charitable Trust.

This gift, the largest ever received by the CLC, will support the center’s mission to promote STEM education through engaging science-based entertainment for children and families in the Tallahassee area.

HAND Engineering Research Center Kickoff

We are excited to introduce the Human Augmentation via Dexterity (HAND) Engineering Research Center, a groundbreaking initiative sponsored by the National Science Foundation and involving researchers from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. HAND aims to revolutionize the ability of robots to augment human labor by transforming dexterous robot hands into versatile, easy-to-integrate tools.
