R-SEAT UTC Annual Conference

The Rural Safe Efficient and Advanced Transportation (R-SEAT) Center Annual UTC Conference will be held on April 16 & 17, 2026 from 8AM to 3PM at the Interdisciplinary Research and Commercialization Building adjacent to the FAMU & FSU College of Engineering in Tallahassee, Florida.

The UTC Conference will convene leaders from diverse sectors, including academia, state transportation agencies, and both public and private transportation advocates.

DC-QC Workshop

This week’s Data-Enabled Computational Engineering and Applied Quantum Computing workshop is about Uncertainty Quantification and will be presented by Professor W. Oatesthe Cummins Professor at FAMU-FSU Joint College of Engineering, who studies smart materials and adaptive structures using Bayesian methods for modeling and analysis.

Five FAMU-FSU Engineering Faculty Earn 2025 Academy Recognition for Research Excellence

Five FAMU-FSU College of Engineering professors will be honored by the Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine of Florida (ASEMFL) for their groundbreaking contributions to engineering research and innovation.

The November 2025 induction ceremony at the ASEMFL Annual Meeting will recognize these faculty members’ achievements across materials science, power electronics, plasma engineering and advanced manufacturing. All five inductees have also earned membership in the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), underscoring their impact on transformative research.
