We are a non-profit organization that promotes the development and application of electrotechnology and allied sciences for the benefit of humanity, the advancement of the profession, and the well-being of our members. Our purpose is to promote the practice of electrical engineering, computer engineering, and the related arts and sciences.
The IEEE shall strive to enhance the quality of life for all people throughout the world through the constructive application of technology in its fields of competence. It shall endeavor to promote understanding of the influence of such technology on the public welfare.
All activities and functions of the IEEE shall be legal under University, local, state, and federal laws. All activities shall conform to rules and guidelines of IEEE's national constitution.
