Engineering Alumna Receives Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic

Tameika Hollis, a FAMU-FSU College of Engineering alumna and the chief executive officer of Illuminate, was presented with the Wash100 Award from Executive Mosaic for more than two decades of leadership experience in the government contracting industry. 

Hollis is one of 100 inductees on the 2023 roster of public and private sector individuals, and it is her first Wash100 award from the internet-based media publications company. The award is given to individuals with outstanding leadership, innovation and vision, and will shape the governmental contractor landscape in the coming years.

Hollis earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University in mechanical engineering before graduating from the Harvard Business School and the University of Michigan with her master’s degree. She currently serves on the advisory board of the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. 

She began her career as an engineer with Ford Motor Company and went on to work for Boeing, Raytheon and Northrop Grumman before becoming the president and CEO of Illuminate. Hollis is passionate about improving access to engineering and technology careers and is involved with several academic and non-profit organizations. 

The Wash100 is an elite group of impactful executives from the government contracting sector chosen annually by Executive Mosaic’s organizational and editorial leadership.
