Student Outcomes SACS - Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering

Student Learning Outcomes:

 

  1. Original Research 

    Define Outcome: Upon completion of the doctoral degree, the student will be able to solve an original research problem in the field of electrical engineering.  

     

  2. Fundamental Knowledge 

    Define Outcome: Upon completion of the course of instruction, the student will be able to demonstrate fundamental knowledge in at least one broad area of Electrical Engineering disciplines (six major areas in department including communications, digital systems, electronics, electromagnetics, power systems, and controls) . 

     

  3. Solve Electrical Engineering Problems

    Define Outcome: Upon completion of the Ph.D. degree, the student will be able to solve problems in the field of electrical engineering. 

     

  4. Utilize Computational and/or Experimental Skills

    Define Outcome: Upon completion of the doctoral degree, the student will be able to use experimental and computational skills to solve research problems in the field of electrical engineering.  

     

  5. Effective communication

    Define Outcome: Upon completion of instruction, graduates will be able to write a research article suitable for publication.
