Paving the Way for More Diverse Engineers in Applied Superconductivity

Through Florida A&M University, researchers at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering recently secured a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy that ensures a future workforce more reflective of the demographics of the nation. 

The new RENEW program (Reaching a New Energy Sciences Workforce) develops a strong pipeline for underrepresented minoritized undergraduate and graduate engineering students to pursue the field of applied superconductivity. 

Graduate Students Win Awards at 2023 James Brooks Symposium

Four materials science and engineering graduate students from Florida State University and the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering were recently named winners of the 2023 James Brooks Symposium oral presentation competition. 

The April 21, 2023 competition was open to students in the interdisciplinary Materials Science and Engineering graduate program at the college. Each student talked about their current research.
