The application is a two-fold evaluation process.
- Applying to Florida A&M University through the FAMU Offices of Admissions determines eligibility for admission, and the academic department and College of Engineering determines admissibility to the degree program.
- Applying to Florida State University through the FSU Offices of Admissions determines eligibility for admission, and the academic department and College of Engineering determines admissibility to the degree program.
Final admission to each institution is subject to approval by the university Office of Admissions.
Our Graduate Certificate programs are offered both in-person and online. We also offer fully online masters programs in Civil Engineering and Systems Engineering.
International Credit Requirements — International applicants or degrees earned from international institutions must submit official transcripts through a NACES approved evaluator. We are unable to review applications with unofficial transcripts from international institutions. The University will not waive this requirement.
- FAMU applicants should have their NACES-approved evaluation sent to gradadmissions@famu.edu. For more information visit FAMU Graduate School.
- FSU applicants will see a link on their Online Status Page to order the divisional course evaluation through SpanTran. For more information visit FSU Graduate School.
US Credit Requirements — Credits earned from US institutions can be reviewed with unofficial transcripts.

“The mentorship Dr. Sweat has provided is transformative. She is close to our age and we’ve watched her go through her early career building a lab. Now, we are graduating in the near future and hoping to build our labs, and we are also passing our knowledge on to high schoolers. It’s come full circle.”
