The application is a two-fold evaluation process. Applying to Florida A&M University through the FAMU Offices of Admissions determines eligibility for admission, and the academic department and College of Engineering determines admissibility to the degree program. Final admission to each institution is subject to approval by the university Office of Admissions.
Our Graduate Certificate programs are offered both in-person and online. We also offer fully online masters programs in Civil Engineering and Systems Engineering.
International Credit Requirements — International applicants or degrees earned from international institutions must submit official transcripts through a NACES approved evaluator. FAMU applicants should have their NACES-approved evaluation sent to gradadmissions@famu.edu. We are unable to review applications with unofficial transcripts from international institutions. The University will not waive this requirement. For more information visit FAMU Graduate School.
US Credit Requirements — Credits earned from US institutions can be reviewed with unofficial transcripts.
Bryce Outten, Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
“Here at FAMU, with the support of the college, I’ve been able to develop as an engineer. The connection to HBCUs has been instrumental in helping me push myself higher than I could have imagined. The polysonic wind tunnel is one of the top wind tunnels in the U.S. and companies like NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman use the facility. When I was visiting other schools and saw their facilities, I can truly say I have not seen anything out there like we have.”
